If you want to stay fit and on top of your game, you must take good care of your body. You must pay attention to what you eat and not stuff your face, you must workout, and you should get regular checkups. Believe it or not, your computer is the same; and what I mean to say by that is that if you don’t take good care of it, it will not be a speedy machine that works at optimum capacity.

From time to time you must perform a few maintenance tasks; nothing too complicated mind you, especially when you have the right piece of software by your side. One of the maintenance tasks I am talking about is cleaning and defragmenting the Windows Registry. If you don’t already know this, I am going to spell it out for you: Windows Registry errors are one of the most common factors that cause your computer to slow down. It can get so bad that your computer can slow down to a crawl.

I mentioned that when you have the right piece of software by your side, taking care of your computer is a breeze. In this situation the right piece of software is the Uniblue-developed and aptly named RegistryBooster. This is a powerful and user friendly application that makes it a piece of cake to clean and defragment the Windows Registry.

RegistryBooster automatically runs at startup (default behavior), meaning it will automatically launch when you boot up your PC. Registry Booster is also set to automatically scan your system for Registry errors when you launch the application (also default behavior). This means that when you launch Registry Booster, it immediately starts looking for potential Windows Registry problems. I liked that RegistryBooster was eager to immediately get to work; if you on the other hand don’t like this default behavior, you can change it from the “Settings” tab.

RegistryBooster’s interface is quite good looking and fairly easy to use. Everything is arranged under four tabs:

Overview – in this tab you are presented with a summary that tells you the last time you performed a Registry scan or if your RegistryBooster version is up to date.
Registry scan – from this tab you can scan your Registry, defragment the registry, view repair logs, and create a Registry ignore list.
Restore – RegistryBooster creates a log to record changes whenever it modifies the Windows Registry. From here you can view a list of Registry backups and use these backups to undo changes to your Windows Registry.
Settings – play with various RegistryBooster settings, view detailed system information.

Unlike what Hollywood would have you think, not everyone in the world speaks English. Seems like Uniblue is aware of this fact and consequently RegistryBooster provides support for a multitude of languages. When installing the application, besides installing it in English, you can install it in French, Italian, Turkish, Chinese, and a whole bunch of other languages. After you’re done installing RegistryBooster, you can switch from one language to another from the Settings menu.

Before you go get RegistryBooster and put it to the test, take a look at the technical details presented below:
Download – the download weighs in at 6.8MB, which isn’t very much. It should only take a moment to get RegistryBooster off the web and onto your computer.
Supported OS – at the time of writing this and according to the developer, RegistryBooster provides support for Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7.
Limitations – the trial version detects Windows Registry problems but it does not address them all; it only fixes up to 15 registry entries. The trial version doesn’t let you defragment the Windows Registry either.

RegistryBooster looks very nice, is user friendly and lets you easily and rapidly defragment the Windows Registry and fix Windows Registry problems. You will be hard pressed to find a more powerful, easier to use application out there.
